Program Description

Event Details

In this beginner friendly workshop, participants will learn the basics of creating a hand carved rubber stamp. Instruction will include transferring a design, carving tips & techniques, and the steps for creating original prints. Once the stamps are fully carved, participants will use ink stamp pads to create block printed artwork on paper. Select from a handful of premade designs, or illustrate your own! This workshop caters to all skill levels, and all necessary tools and supplies are provided.

Olivia Yuen is a Phoenix-based artist and educator, primarily creating block prints that explore her Chinese-Mexican heritage. Inspired by the visual motifs and imagery of both cultures, her work seeks to visualize her unique biracial experience. Olivia also works as a middle school art teacher and teaches adult printmaking workshops to the community. You can find her available work online via her website, or locally at various markets and events across the Phoenix area.
