What does the acronym 'LGBTQ+' mean? How have people in this community been historically marginalized? What are ways we can show up as allies today for people under the LGBTQ+ umbrella? Let's answer these questions and more during this workshop. Bring your compassion and care with you as we learn! Open to ages 15+ and adults.
Hira Ismail has a Bachelor's in English from Bryn Mawr College as well as a Master's in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from Arizona State University. She is a local theatre artist, involved in performing, writing, and directing. She has worked as the Training and Digital Program Specialist at onenten, an LGBTQ+ youth-serving organization with a focus on youth empowerment. Hira conducted trainings on LGBTQ+ Inclusivity with onenten, as well as digital programming for youth. Contributing to raising awareness of and advocating for marginalized populations, especially in our intersectionalities, is a focal point in her work.
