Color & Motion: Abstract Art for Tweens

In this colorful, hands-on art program, tweens, ages 9-11, will explore the bold and energetic world of abstract artist Mildred Thompson. Inspired by music, science, and the invisible forces around us, Thompson used color and movement to express emotions and ideas without using pictures or words. Participants will create their own abstract artworks using vibrant colors to express feeling and sounds much like Thompson did. This program is intended for children ages 9-11, though younger children can participate with the assistance of an adult.
