For centuries, Timbuktu was at the center of learning and the convergence of new ideas due to its location, connecting Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Today, the encroaching Sahara Desert and ongoing political disputes have made it a difficult place to live and visit. UNESCO has designated Timbuktu's heritage as threatened and in danger of being lost. with the help of other local and international organization, UNESCO has assisted in a huge undertaking to preserve and digitize a collection of over 7000,000 ancient manuscripts from the region, dating a far back as the 13th century CE. These priceless artifacts have been passed down for generations to families responsible for preserving them. The Arabic writings vary in content, but highlight ancient advances in medicine, philosophy, astronomy, poetry, art, and religion. As the manuscripts are digitized they become accessible worldwide. For the past year, you have researched a set of manuscripts by a 14th century Timbuktu scholar. during your exploration, you have identified cryptic puzzles and are convinced they combine with a curious set of papyrus cards to real the secret name of a mysterious society in Timbuktu. Your mission is to unlock the mystery!
