Lunar New Year Lion Dance

In celebration of the Lunar New Year, the Golden Phoenix Arts and Athletic Association presents a special Sar Ping Lion Dance show. This celebratory program will include a brief presentation about this beautiful cultural practice, energetic dances featuring live music, traditional dance patterns, storytelling, audience interaction, and an educational demonstration. All ages and families are welcome.  

Golden Phoenix Arts and Athletic Association is a community organization that is committed to bringing the art of Sar Ping Lion Dance to the greater Phoenix community. With over twenty years of combined experience, the coaching team leads members to not only learn to perform in shows in lion or as musicians but to embody the art and spirit of this beautiful cultural tradition. GPLD musicians and dancers perform choreographed routines designed to bring the lions to life throughout the show from their awakening to the bows at the end.

Tickets will be distributed in the youth department 15 minutes prior to the show on a first come first served basis.
